After watching dozens of movies over the past few weeks and agonizing over #s 1 through 100, the QHS Movie list deadline is passed. Let the compilation and statsifying begin! Because I'm so happy with my list, I'm going to delight my readers with a preview of my top 20. To see last year's list (2004),click here. Bryan will post this year's list soon.

I do like a well-crafted comedy and I revel in a happy [or at least hopefully ambivalent] ending. I also enjoy a good scare or a snappy song (particularly when earnestly rendered as in the Bill Murray karaoke scene). I am a kid of the 80s so I can't help but be influenced by some of the quintessential films of that decade, but I have really attempted to open my mind and heart to older and newer films, and I feel that I succeeded in this effort this year. For those of you who enjoy making lists, I encourage you to create your own 'top movies' list as it will give you great insight into the types of things that influence and move you, and it will bring up lively debate when shared and great memories when carefully pondered. And feel free to share your top picks with me. I probably won't create any stats from them, but I do like to know what affects others.
